The sweet-cordero Lab

impact

at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital

Battle Osteosarcoma funded a $1.35 million grant for Dr. Alejandro Sweet-Cordero to investigate osteosarcoma’s genomic mutations that drive metastatic disease, and to identify new drug combinations.

Battle Osteosarcoma’s support has been transformative for my lab. It has allowed us to focus on research to develop new therapies for osteosarcoma that we have not done previously. Battle Osteosarcoma’s support has led to additional grant funding, allowing us to share models and establish a collaboration with other scientists. I firmly believe it will make a huge difference for children and young adults dealing with this illness by helping us move faster to fund cures.
— Alejandro Sweet-Cordero, MD

Additional funding to the Sweet-Cordero Lab at UCSF supports Dr. Betsy Young’s work on an immunooncology approach to osteosarcoma.
